La fondation a pour but de proposer pour la ville de Bienne et sa région une offre de grande qualité dans le domaine des arts de la scène prioritairement francophone. Dans ce but, elle met notamment sur pied une saison théâtrale annuelle à Bienne. La fondation assume en particulier des tâches découlant des contrats de prestations/subventionnements qu'elle passe avec les corporations de droit public responsables de son financement. Elle peut collaborer avec d'autres institutions poursuivant le même but et organiser d'autres manifestations pour la promotion des arts de la scène.
