PharmaTrain ist eine nicht gewinnorientierte Organisation, welche Pharmazeutische Medizin und Arzneimittelentwicklung fördert, indem sie weltweit das Wissen, die Fähigkeit und die Sachkunde von Ärzten und anderer beruflich in der Arzneimittelentwicklung tätiger Personen aus Universitäten, Industrie und Bewilligungsbehörden durch systematische Ausbildung und Training verbessert und dadurch zum Nutzen der Patienten und der Gesellschaft zu effizienteren und sicheren Arzneimitteln sowie zu einer schnelleren Verfügbarkeit und einem angemessenen Gebrauch von Arzneimitteln beiträgt.
