Verfolgt diesen Zweck durch fachliche und finanzielle Unterstützung der regionalen Vereinigungen und Selbsthilfegruppen, sowie anhand von Publikationen, Fachinformation und Interessenvertretung. Die einzelnen Aufgaben sind in der Geschäftspolitik festgehalten. Sie kann sich anderen schweizerischen oder internationalen Organisationen mit gleicher oder ähnlicher Zielsetzung anschliessen.
