## Purpose

Der Verein bezweckt Studierenden von öffentlichen Bildungsinstitutionen in der Nordwestschweiz geeignete und möglichst preisgünstige Unterkünfte zu verschaffen. Die Erreichung dieses Zweckes erstrebt er insbesondere durch: a) Betrieb einer zentralen Anlaufsteile für die Studierenden, welche möglichst alle, dem studentischen Wohnen dienende Unterkünfte in der Region, vermittelt oder vermietet; b) Bewirtschaftung von preisgünstigem studentischem Wohnraum gemäss den Bedürfnissen der Studierenden, sowie die Verwaltung von Immobilien, die mit dieser Tätigkeit verbunden sind, u.a . diejenigen der Wohnstiftung für Studierende; c) Entwicklung, Unterstützung und Mitfinanzierung von Projekten zur Bereitstellung von geeignetem und preisgünstigem Wohnraum für die Studierenden, sowie die Beschaffung von Mitteln zu diesem Zweck; d) Zusammenarbeit mit öffentlichen Bildungsinstitutionen, die das studentische Wohnen benötigen und fördern, insbesondere mit der Universität Basel und der Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz und durch das Gewinnen weiterer, das studentische Wohnen unterstützender Träger. e) Öffentlichkeitsarbeit zur Förderung des studentischen Wohnens. Das Wohnangebot der WoVe darf grundsätzlich nur Studierenden von öffentlichen Bildungsinstitutionen vermittelt oder vermietet werden. An DoktorandInnen sowie GastdozentInnen unter besonderen Bedingungen. Über allfällige Ausnahmen von diesem Grundsatz, die insbesondere durch Auflagen von Spendern, Subventionsbehörden oder Vertragspartnern bedingt sind, sowie über die besonderen Bedingungen für Doktorand/innen und Gastdozent/innen gemäss § 2 Abs. 2, entscheidet der Vorstand. Er kann die Wohnberechtigung auf Auszubildende weiterer, vergleichbarer und gleichwertiger Bildungsinstitutionen ausdehnen.
