## Purpose

Die Stiftung bezweckt zum einen, in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Department of Economics, Spitzenforschung und -lehre in den Wirtschaftswissenschaften an der UZH nachhaltig zu etablieren und dazu beizutragen, dem Wirtschafts-, Bildungs- und Wissenschaftsstandort Schweiz einen Platz an der Weltspitze in diesem Bereich zu sichern. Hierzu kann die Stiftung insbesondere folgende Aktivitäten unterstützen: die teilweise oder vollumfängliche Finanzierung von Lehrstühlen und Professuren (z.B. ordentliche Professuren und Assistenzprofessuren). Die ProfessorInnen müssen sich durch exzellente Forschung und Lehre auf Weltklasseniveau auszeichnen; die Akquisition und Förderung hervorragender WissenschaftlerInnen, insbesondere auch durch die Ausrichtung von Stipendien/Scholarships anStudentInnen und von Exzellenz-Prämien an die Inhaber der von der Stiftung finanzierten Lehrstühle und Professuren sowie an InhaberInnen von Lehrstühlen und Professuren, die eine Anbindung an das UBS Center gemäss Art. 3 Abs. 1 suchen; die nationale und internationale Zusammenarbeit in Forschung und Lehre. Die Stiftung bezweckt zum anderen, die Zusammenarbeit und den Austausch zwischen Lehre und Forschung einerseits und Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft andererseits zu unterstützen und zu fördern, um einen aktiven Wissenstransfer sicherzustellen. Zu diesem Zweck kann die Stiftung insbesondere ein Forum etablieren, welches durch die weltweite Ausrichtung von Workshops, Seminaren und öffentlichen Veranstaltungen einen ständigen aktiven Dialog zwischen Wissenschaft, Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft zum Ziel hat. Die Stiftung verfolgt weder Erwerbs- noch Selbsthilfezwecke.
