Der Verein ist Teil des Netzwerks Switzerland Innovation und arbeitet mit dem Innovationspark Zürich sowie der Dachorganisation Switzerland Innovation zusammen. Der Verein repräsentiert die Mitglied-Unternehmen, die Kantone und die akademischen Partner, insbesondere die Hochschule Luzern und ist Steuerungsorgan des "Switzerland Innovation Park Central". Der Verein bildet die Trägerschaft und ist verantwortlich für Organisation, Betrieb, Finanzierung und Weiterentwicklung des "Switzerland Innovation Park Central". Der Verein kann einzelne Aufgaben an Dritte delegieren. Der Verein hat ausschliesslich eine gemeinnützige Zielsetzung und ist politisch und konfessionell unabhängig.
