Die SMPA bezweckt, national und international mit geeigneten Mitteln die gemeinsamen fachlichen, rechtlichen und gesellschaftlichen Interessen der Vereinsmitglieder bei Behörden, Politik, Kultur, Öffentlichkeit, Unternehmen, Verbänden und sonstigen Institutionen zu vertreten. Zur Erreichung des Zwecks kann der Verein alles Weitere unternehmen, was dem Vereinszweck förderlich sein kann.
