## Purpose

Die Stiftung bezweckt die Erarbeitung und Publikation einer neuen Basler Stadtgeschichte. Grundlage des Projektes bilden das Gesamtkonzept „Stadt.Geschichte.Basel", wie es dem Regierungsrat des Kantons Basel-Stadt am 10. September 2014 übergeben wurde sowie der Beschluss des Grossen Rates des Kantons Basel-Stadt Nr. 16/42/05.1G vom 19. Oktober 2016. Vorgesehen sind drei mediale Formate: eine mehrbändige umfassende Darstellung, ein Syntheseband und ein Online-Portal. Das Projekt soll durch Begleitmassnahmen der Öffentlichkeit bekannt gemacht werden.
