## Purpose

Sammlung und Archivierung von Akten und Objekten zur Firmengeschichte von Glarner Firmen, insbesondere von Glarner Textilfirmen; Erschliessung dieser Akten und Objekte durch ein sachgerechtes Archiv-Computerprogramm; wissenschaftliche Auswertung dieser Akten und Objekte; Sammlung von Sekundärliteratur zur Wirtschaftsgeschichte des Kantons Glarus und Aufbau einer themenbezogenen Fachbibliothek; Gewährung des Zugangs zum Archiv und zur vorhandenen Infrastruktur für öffentliche Benützung zu Forschungszwecken; Organisation von Ausstellungen zur Textilgeschichte und zu wirtschaftsgeschichtlichen Themen; Förderung von Publikationen zur Wirtschaftsgeschichte des Kantons Glarus. In Ausnahmefällen kann die Stiftung Akten von Firmen und Familien ausserhalb des Kantons Glarus aufnehmen, insbesondere dann, wenn von diesen Bindungen zum Kanton Glarus oder zu Textilfirmen des Kantons Glarus bestehen oder bestanden und dies im Interesse der Stiftung liegt. Die Stiftung kann mit andern Archiven und Institutionen, insbesondere dem Landesarchiv des Kantons Glarus, zusammenarbeiten. Die Stiftung will damit einen wichtigen Beitrag zur Erforschung der Industriegeschichte und Industriekultur des Glarnerlandes leisten.
