## Purpose

Zweck der Stiftung ist die Pflege des für Europa und insbesondere die Schweiz relevanten Kunst­ und Kulturgutes. Die Stiftung fördert dessen Erhaltung sowie die Auseinandersetzung mit den damit verbundenen historisch-kulturellen Werten. Sie trägt dazu bei, diese Werte der Öffentlichkeit zu ver­mitteln. Dieses Ziel soll unter anderem erreicht werden: a. durch Sammlung von Kunst-, Kultur- und Geschichtsgut, unter Einschluss des volkskundlichen Gebietes; b. durch die Gewährung von Beiträgen an Dritte, die im Sinne des Stiftungsgedankens wirken; c. durch die Förderung von Kunstschaffenden, angehenden und fortgeschrittenen Forschern und durch die Unterstützung von Tagungen, Publikationen usw.; d. durch die Aussetzung von Preisen als Anerkennung von besonderen Leistungen im Bereich der Stiftungsziele; e. durch die Beteiligung an und Veranstaltung von Ausstellungen, vor allem in der Schweiz; f. durch Erhaltung und Pflege von Bau-, Kunst- und Kulturdenkmälern. Die Stiftung hat gemeinnützigen Charakter und handelt nicht gewinnstrebig.
