## Purpose

Die Stiftung bezweckt die Ausrichtung eines Literaturpreises für auf dem Gebiet der Literatur tätige Bündnerinnen und Bünder. Als Bündnerinnen und Bündner gelten Personen, die in Graubünden wohnhaft oder heimatberechtigt sind oder deren Werk mit dem Kanton in besonders naher Beziehung steht. Der Literaturpreis kann an Einzelpersonen aber auch an Autorengruppen verliehen werden aufgrund von Werken, deren Erscheinungsdatum in der Regel nicht mehr als drei Jahre zurückliegt. Es ist möglich, ein ganzes Lebenswerk auszuzeichnen. Ausgezeichnet werden Personen, die zum Zeitpunkt der Wahl noch leben. Als Literatur gelten Schriftwerke im engeren (Belletristik) und im weiteren Sinn (Sachliteratur, kultur- und geistesgeschichtliche Texte). Die Auszeichung erfolgt in Form eines Geldpreises. Dieser kann Schriftstellerinnen und Schriftstellern für ihr literarisches Schaffen in romanischer, italienischer oder deutscher Sprache zugesprochen werden.
