## Purpose

Zweck der Stiftung ist das Wirken als „Collaborating Centre" des Umweltprogrammes der Vereinten Nationen (UNEP) zur Förderung der rationellen Nutzung von Energie sowie der Entwicklung und des Einsatzes von erneuerbaren Energien und Lösungen für den Klimawandel in allen Regionen der Welt. Die Stiftung verfolgt ihren Zweck insbesondere durch: Vermittlung von Projekten aus dem Bereich „nachhaltige Energie und Lösungen für den Klimawandel" an Investoren, Unterstützung von Projekten zur Entwicklung von lokalen und regionalen Märkten für nachhaltige Energie und Lösungen für den Klimawandel, Politikberatung über Mittel und Wege zur Förderung nachhaltiger Energie und Lösungen für den Klimawandel. Die Stiftung kann ihren Zweck auch mit anderen Mitteln verfolgen und eigene Projekte zur Förderung von erneuerbaren Energien, Energie-Effizienz und Lösungen für den Klimawandel realisieren. Zur Erfüllung ihres Zweckes arbeitet die Stiftung auch eng mit Unternehmen, Institutionen und Fachleuten sowie mit Regierungen von Staaten, Bundesländern, Regionen und Kantonen und Gemeinden zusammen. Die Stiftung kann sich im Rahmen ihres eigenen Zweckes, resp. eines Teilzweckes auch andere Stiftungen errichten und Mitglied in Vereinigungen, Organisationen oder Netzwerken werden.
