## Purpose

Zweck der Stiftung ist - die Unterstützung und Förderung gemeinnütziger und kultureller Werke mit Schwergewicht - aber nicht ausschliesslich - im Kanton Appenzell Ausserrhoden sowie in begründeten Fällen auch in den Kantonen Appenzell Innerrhoden und St. Gallen und in der übrigen Schweiz sowie im Ausland, - die Unterstützung von Organisationen und Veranstaltungen, deren Tätigkeit und Erfolg den Interessen der Öffentlichkeit dienen, - die Leistung von Beiträgen zur Erhaltung einer gesunden Wirtschaftsstruktur in der Ostschweiz mit Schwergewicht im Kanton Appenzell Ausserrhoden. Zur Sicherung moderner Arbeitsplätze soll die Stiftung die Steinegg Aktiengesellschaft, Herisau, und deren wichtige Beteiligungen fördern. Über die Art und den Umfang der Stiftungsleistungen beschliesst im Rahmen der Stiftungsurkunde und des Stiftungsreglements der Stiftungsrat. Er wird dazu besondere Richtlinien erlassen. Zur Erreichung des Stiftungszwecks kann die Stiftung einmalige oder wiederkehrende Beiträge irgendwelcher Art ausrichten. Die Stiftungsleistungen werden vom Stiftungsrat nach freiem Ermessen festgesetzt, und es bestehen auf deren Ausrichtung keine klagbaren Rechtsansprüche.
