## Purpose

Sonos setzt sich dafür ein, dass Menschen mit einer Hörbehinderung ihr Recht auf Selbstbestimmung, Chancengleichheit und gesellschaftliche Teilhabe verwirklichen können. Gemeinsam mit seinen Mitgliedern setzt sich Sonos für diesen Zweck ein. Der Verein verfolgt keine kommerziellen Zwecke und erstrebt keinen Gewinn. Zu seinen wichtigsten Aufgaben zählen: a) Sozial- und Gesellschaftspolitik; b) Interessenvertretung, unter anderem für Bildung, ambulante und stationäre soziale Arbeit; c) Öffentlichkeitsarbeit; d) Mittelbeschaffung; e) Initiierung, Koordination und Erbringung von Dienstleistungen. Vernetzung und Koordination innerhalb des Verbandes sowie mit anderen Verbänden (national und international). Mitgliederspezifische Dienstleistungen: a) Aus-, Fort- und Weiterbildung von Fachpersonal; b) Vertragspartner des BSV für Beiträge der IV gemäss Art. 74 an Mitgliederorganisationen; c) Mittelbeschaffung; d) Administrative/organisatorische Leistungen. Förderung und Unterstützung von Projekten. Unterstützung der beruflichen Aus- und Weiterbildung und Integration von Menschen mit einer Hörbehinderung. Mitwirkung bei der Sicherstellung eines umfassenden und bedürfnisgerechten Dolmetscherdienstes. Informationsstelle für Betroffene im Sinne eines Auskunftsdienstes über Angebote und Leistungen für Menschen mit einer Hörbehinderung (Broschüren, Dokumentationen, Internet, Soziale Medien usw.).
