## Purpose

Der SGB-FSS ist ein nationaler Dachverband, der sich dafür einsetzt, dass Zugangsbarrieren für gehörlose und hörbehinderte Menschen abgebaut, dass sie gleiche Rechte und Chancen erhalten und dass die drei Landes-Gebärdensprachen (Deutschschweizerische Gebärdensprache (DSGS), Französische Gebärdensprache (LSF) und Italienische Gebärdensprache (LIS)) in der Schweiz gesellschaftlich und rechtlich anerkannt werden. Damit verfolgt er die vollständige Gleichstellung und Nichtdiskriminierung von gehörlosen und hörbehinderten Menschen und deren Inklusion. Er sorgt für ein professionelles Angebot von Leistungen für die Zielgruppe von gehörlosen und hörbehinderten Menschen, und der Kollektivmitglieder. Der SGB-FSS setzt sich als Experte und Interessenvertreter für die konsequente Verbreitung des bilingualen (und multilingualen) Spracherwerbs als Voraussetzung für die volle Inklusion aller gehörlosen und hörbehinderten Menschen in der Schweiz ein. Er tritt dafür ein, dass die schweizerischen Gebärdensprachen in allen Lebensbereichen gleichwertig wie die offiziellen Landessprachen Deutsch, Französisch und Italienisch behandelt werden. Der SGB-FSS verpflichtet sich, die soziale, kulturelle und linguistische Selbständigkeit und die Solidarität unter gehörlosen und hörbehinderten Menschen in der Schweiz (und in Liechtenstein) zu bewahren und zu fördern, und ihnen eine aktive Teilnahme am sozialen Leben zu ermöglichen. Er verfolgt ausschliesslich gemeinnützige und keine kommerziellen Zwecke.
