## Purpose

Der Verein bezweckt die Erhaltung und Förderung des Interesses für Geschichte, insbesondere Militärgeschichte, durch die Vermittlung von militärhistorischem Wissen. Er ermöglicht das gemeinsame Studium militärhistorischer und kultureller Ereignisse sowie die themenbezogene Besichtigung von Örtlichkeiten, Bauten und Einrichtungen im In- und Ausland. Der Verein leistet dadurch einen Beitrag zur Förderung des Wehrwillens und des Verständnisses für friedenssichernde Massnahmen in der Öffentlichkeit. Dies geschieht hauptsächlich durch die Organisation und Durchführung von Studienreisen unter Leitung von fachlich kompetenten und durch den Verein gestellten Reiseleitenden und unter Beizug eines Reisebüros, durch die Behandlung von militärhistorischen und militärpolitischen Themen an Tagungen und durch das Erstellen und den Vertrieb einer Schriftenreihe mit militärhistorischen Themen, von militärhistorischer Literatur und von Reisedokumentationen.
