Der Vereinerfülltseinen Zweck vor allem durch die Erbringung von Dienstleistungen sowohl für Betroffene wie auch für die Mitgliederorganisationen, Fachpersonen und für die breite Öffentlichkeit: Information, Prävention, Sozialarbeit, Förderung der Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe, Förderung der Therapie und Wiedereingliederung, Aus-, Fort- und Weiterbildung, Unterstützung von Fachpersonen, Arbeitgebern; Vertretung der Interessen von Menschen, die in Folge einer rheumatischen Erkrankung behindert sind gegenüber Behörden, Fachleuten, Leistungserbringern und Versicherern; Koordination und Förderung der Zusammenarbeit mit nationalen und internationalen Institutionen ähnlicher Zwecksetzung.
