## Purpose

Der Zweck des Verbandes ist die Sicherstellung und Unterstützung eines Anstrichs und einer Beschichtung in guter Qualität auf Aluminium und Aluminiumlegierungen. Für diesen Zweck konzentrieren sich die durchgeführten Aktivitäten auf die Verbreitung von Qualitätszeichen weltweit. Im Rahmen der Erfüllung seines Geschäftszweckes ist der Verband insbesondere um Folgendes bemüht: Erarbeitung und Unterhaltung von Qualitätszeichen (aktuell QUALICOAT und QUALIDECO), internationale Sicherung der Eigentumsrechte an diesen Qualitätszeichen und Verwaltung dieser Qualitätszeichen; Unterzeichnung von Generallizenzverträgen mit anerkannten Verbänden; Sicherstellung, dass die abgeschlossenen Verträge vorschriftsmässig eingehalten und in unterschiedlichen Ländern harmonisiert werden; Harmonisierung der Verfahren und Prozesse, die in der Farben- und Beschichtungsindustrie zum Einsatz kommen, die gegebenenfalls die Festlegung eines Standards beinhalten; Verbreitung und Unterstützung dieser Technologien; Unterstützung bei der Einrichtung nationaler und internationaler Verbände; Aktive Beteiligung an internationalen Normungsgremien. Der Verband kann ebenfalls anderen internationalen Organisationen und Einrichtungen beitreten oder Verträge mit diesen innerhalb des Anwendungsbereichs seines Geschäftszweckes abschliessen.
