## Purpose

Die Arbeit des Vereins ist gemeinnützig. Ziel ist die Erhaltung und Wieder-Inwertsetzung der gefährdeten Vielfalt bei Nutztierrassen und Kulturpflanzen in Berggebieten. Die Bemühungen gelten vor allem Rassen und Sorten, die aus genetischen und kulturgeschichtlichen Gründen besonders bemerkenswert sind. Diese sollen in Form von Lebendbeständen erhalten werden. Der Verein unterstützt Netzwerkpartner und fördert Erhaltungsprojekte im Alpenraum und die Vermarktung von Produkten alter Rassen und kann dazu Trademarks schaffen und zur Verfügung stellen. Mittel zum Erreichen des Vereinszwecks sind auch Information und Bewusstseinsbildung.
