## Purpose

Die National Reining Horse Association Switerzland (abgekürzt NRHA) fördert die Sportart "Reining". Reining ist eine schnell, präzise und kontrolliert gerittene Galoppdressur, ursprünglich abgeleitet von der Arbeit des amerikanischen Ranchpferdes. Die NRHA Switzerland ist eine sogenannte "Affiliate" der US-amerikanischen NRHA und übernimmt soweit möglich und sinnvoll deren Weisungen und Reglemente, insbesondere für sportliche Belange. Die NRHA arbeitet mit der FEI (Fédération Equestre Internationale) sowie mit dem SVPS (Schweizerischer Verband für Pferdesport), aber auch mit den anderen Schweizer Westernreitverbänden eng zusammen. Die NRHA fördert die Aus- und Weiterbildung ihrer Mitglieder in reitsportlicher Hinsicht, aber auch im Umgang mit dem Pferd. Die Förderung des jugendlichen Nachwuchses sowie der Kaderreiter nimmt einen besonders hohen Stellenwert ein. Die NRHA führt regelmässig nationale und internationale Reining-Turniere durch. Sämtliche Veranstaltungen der NRHA (Turniere, Kurse etc.) sind offen für alle Pferderassen. Die NRHA setzt sich dafür ein, dass den Belangen des Tierschutzes im Reiningsport sowie in der Pferdehaltung die nötige Beachtung zukommt. Die NRHA verfolgt ausschliesslich gemeinnützige Zwecke.
