## Purpose

Die Stiftung verfolgt öffentliche und gemeinnützige Zwecke im Sinne der Förderung einer im Interesse der Allgemeinheit liegenden Aufgabe. Sie bezweckt die Sicherung des wertvollen Kulturgutes von nationaler Bedeutung, welches insbesondere das Luftbildarchiv der Schweiz, eine Sammlung von Luftbilddokumentationen der Schweiz aus den Jahren 1915 bis zur Gegenwart, darstellt. Zu diesem Zweck sollen die historisch und kulturell schützenswerten Bilder mittels technischen Massnahmen erhalten, in geeigneter Form erfasst und zweckmässig archiviert werden. Das Bildarchiv soll der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich gemacht werden. Zweck der Stiftung ist es im weitern, die Luftbilddokumentation über die Schweiz laufend zu aktualisieren und zu ergänzen. Zum Stiftungszweck gehört es auch, das Bildarchiv Dritten zu wissenschaftlichen Zwecken und zur Nutzung (Bücher, Kalender, Werbeprodukte, Souvenirartikel, CD Rom, Internet etc.) zur Verfügung zu stellen.
