Licht im Osten basiert auf christlichen Werten, welches gemeinnützig, karitativ und auf christliche Weise in Not geratenen Menschen in Osteuropa, Zentralasien und Russland Hilfe leistet. In Zusammenarbeit mit lokalen Partnern bezweckt Licht im Osten Sofort-, Not- und Katastrophenhilfe durch materielle, medizinische und geistliche Hilfe, sowie Existenzsicherung durch Gewerbeförderung (Arbeitsplatzbeschaffung) und das Ermöglichen von Schul- und Berufsbildung. Licht im Osten leistet den Menschen Hilfe basierend auf christlichen Werten, ungeachtet ihrer religiösen und ethnischen Herkunft. Der Verein verfolgt keine kommerziellen Zwecke und erstrebt keinen Gewinn.
