## Purpose

Zweck der La Leche League ist es, das Stillen in allen Bereichen fachkundig zu fördern und damit einen wesentlichen Beitrag zur Volksgesundheit zu leisten. Von der LLLI anerkannte Stillberaterinnen LLL geben ehrenamtlich ihre persönliche Stillerfahrung, ergänzt durch Aus- und Weiterbildung, weiter. Sie ermöglichen den regelmässigen Erfahrungsaustausch in regionalen Gruppen und bieten Wissensgrundlagen und praktische Lösungsvorschläge an. Eltern aller sozialen Schichten werden ermuntert, ihre Babys zu stillen, sie mit ihren Bedürfnissen ernst zu nehmen und so eine tragfähige Eltern-Kind-Beziehung aufzubauen. Die Arbeit der LLLCH ist eine Ergänzung zum bestehenden medizinischen Angebot.
