## Purpose

IFPI ist ein nicht gewinnorientierter Verein. Wo solche Rechte bereits bestehen, sollen diese verteidigt, erhalten und weiterentwickelt werden; die Förderung der Interessen der Hersteller von Tonträgern und videographischen Erzeugnissen ("Musik-Videos") durch Vorstelligwerden bei Regierungen und Verhandlungen mit internationalen staatlichen und nicht-staatlichen Organisationen und anderen interessierten repräsentativen Institutionen; jegliche sonstigen Aktivitäten, um das gegenwärtige und zukünftige Wohlergehen der Vereinsmitglieder generell zu fördern, Anti-Piraterie-Aktivitäten und das Halten von Beteiligungen an operativ tätigen Tochtergesellschaften eingeschlossen.
