## Purpose

SEC engagiert sich für die Verbesserung der Beziehungen zwischen der Schweiz und den 17 Ländern von Mittelosteuropa und für den Erfolg seiner Mitglieder, Kunden und Partner. Der Fokus liegt hierbei auf Wirtschaft/Handel, kann aber u.a. auch Wissenschaft/ Bildung, Gesellschaft/Kultur sein oder künftig auf weitere Themenbereiche ausgeweitet werden. Dabei vernetzt SEC Unternehmen, Organisationen, Regierungen, Diplomatie und Privatpersonen aus der Schweiz und aus Mittelosteuropa und unterstützt diese z.B. mit Beratungs-, Projekt­ und Informationsdienstleistungen. Weiter koordiniert SEC die Beziehungen mit SECO, den diplomatischen Vertretungen im In- und Ausland sowie den Verbänden. Um Doppelspurigkeit zu vermeiden, nutzt SEC wo immer möglich Synergien mit Partnerorganisationen wie z.B. S-GE, die bilateralen Handelskammern in der Region etc. SEC ist aktiv in folgenden Ländern: Albanien, Bosnien und Herzegowina, Bulgarien, Estland, Kroatien, Kosovo, Lettland, Litauen, Nordmazedonien, Montenegro, Polen, Rumänien, Serbien, Slowakei, Slowenien, Tschechien und Ungarn. Die Tätigkeit kann jederzeit auf weitere mittel- / osteuropäische Länder ausgedehnt werden. Die SEC ist befugt, eine Mediationsstelle aufzubauen.
