## Purpose

Der GSMA ist nicht gewinnorientiert und verfolgt die folgenden Ziele: die Förderung und Entwicklung von GSM-Netzwerken und der GSM-Plattform für internationales Roaming; für die Erbringung standardisierter Dienste (z.B. Sprache, Daten, Multimedia etc.); als Kern anderer Systeme (z.B. UMTS, IMT 2000 , DECT), welche verschiedene drahtlose Zugangsmethoden verwenden (z.B. TDMA, CDMA); sowie als Kern neuer Anwendungen (z.B. Verkehrstelematik etc.); die Förderung und Entwicklung von Standards und Spezifikationen, welche die Verbreitung von Drahtlosdiensten und -anwendungen im öffentlichen Interesse begünstigen; die Förderung einer regulatorischen, gesetzlichen und werbetechnischen Agenda zur Unterstützung der Interessen der Mitglieder; die Durchführung von Fachausstellungen und die Erbringung von Managed Services, in Übereinstimmung mit den Interessen der Mitglieder; das Erbringen von Unterstützungs- und Führungsleistungen bei Brancheninitiativen zugunsten der Mitglieder und des drahtlosen Ökosystems; und das Ergreifen beliebiger anderer Initiativen, die zur Erreichung der vorgenannten Ziele notwendig, geeignet oder typisch sind.
