Die Vereinigung hat folgende Zwecke: die Weiterentwicklung und Förderung der von Dr. George Gallup erarbeiteten Methoden und Verfahren der Meinungsforschung auf globaler, internationaler, regionaler und nationaler Ebene und die weltweite internationale Förderung, Koordination und Verwirklichung der Markt- und Meinungsforschung; die weltweite Wahrung und Verbesserung des Prestiges, des Ansehens und des Rufes der Vereinigung „Gallup International" und von deren Mitgliedern im Zusammenhang mit der Markt- und Meinungsforschung; die Wahrung und die Pflege des Namens und sämtlicher eingetragenen Marken und daraus abgeleiteter Nutzungsrechte und Lizenzen der Gallup International Association; die Wahrung und Pflege des Rufes der Vereinigung und Ihres protokollierten Namens „Gallup International"; die Förderung und die Pflege des Erfahrungsaustausches und der Kontakte zwischen den Mitgliedern, die Förderung von Geschäftsgelegenheiten für die Mitglieder; die Pflege des hohen berufsethischen und fachtechnischen Niveaus der Mitglieder, welches von der Vereinigung anerkannt und/oder erlassen und/oder vorn Vorstand von Zeit zu Zeit vorgeschrieben wird und sich ausschliesslich an den höchsten Branchenstandards orientiert und die jeweils neuesten wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnisse berücksichtigt; die Entwicklung der Markt- und Meinungsforschung durch die Beteiligung an Projekten in Zusammenarbeit mit verwandten Institutionen und allgemein mit anderen interessierten Kreisen; die Lizenzierung der Nutzungsrechte am Namen Gallup und Gallup International, und anderer im Besitz der Vereinigung befindlicher Werke, Namen und eingetragenen Marken.
