## Purpose

a) lo scopo della Fondazione consiste nell'incrementare l'interesse per i veicoli efficenti leggeri (VEL) a favorire la loro introduzione nell'uso quotidiano, in particolare: mediante il sostegno finanziario al progetto pilota assegnato dall'Ufficio Federale dell'Energia al Comune di Mendrisio e che si svolgerà tra il 1995 e il 2001; mediante il sostegno finanziario al progetto di espansione del "progetto VEL di Mendrisio" a tutto il Cantone, che si svolgerà a partire dal 2001 (VEL 2); attraverso la promozione di altre attività non contemplate in tali due progetti ma comunque volte a favorire l'interesse e l'introduzione di veicoli efficenti leggeri. b) La Fondazione persegue i suoi scopi tramite la promozione ed il mantenimento di relazioni di collaborazione scientifica: tra la Fondazione e gli Uffici federali e cantonali competenti, in particolare nel settore del risparmio energetico e della protezione dell'ambiente, gli istituti universitari e di ricerca; tra la Fondazione e gli enti pubblici e privati che promuovono l'interesse e l'introduzione di veicoli efficenti leggeri; tra la Fondazione e gli enti specializzati esteri (Citelec, AVERE, commissioni europee, ecc.); c) La Fondazione persegue la raccolta di fondi privati e pubblici e si impegna a gestire e versare i contributi per la realizzazione dello scopo sociale. In particolare ricerca attivamente sponsor e sostiene le attività svolte dall'AssoVEL e dell'Associazione per la mobilità sostenibile (AssoVEL2), incaricate dell'esecuzione dei progetti indicati alla precedente lettera a). d) La fondazione è di pubblica utilità e non ha scpo di lucro.
