## Purpose

Salvaguardare e proteggere attivamente la Valle Bavona nelle sue componenti etnologiche, geografiche, botaniche, faunistiche e paesaggistiche, collaborando con il Comune di Cevio nell'applicazione del Piano Regolatore Sezione Valle Bavona (PRVB). In particolare la Fondazione: stimola lo sviluppo dei principi operativi e concettuali sanciti dal PRVB e, tramite il Comune, ne sostiene l'applicazione. Propone al Comune l'adozione di principi pianificatori specifici quali: - la protezione architettonica e paesaggistica dei nuclei, maggenghi e alpeggi; - il trattamento delle aree agricole e boschive in funzione delle esigenze economiche, biotopiche e di svago; la gestione della rete stradale secondaria rispondente alle esigenze dell'economia agricola, boschiva e paesaggistica; - la gestione della rete dei sentieri storici con la rispettiva segnaletica. Finanzia in modo autonomo ed in stretta collaborazione con Enti pubblici e privati interessati, in particolare: - interventi di salvaguardia sul patrimonio paesaggistico, naturalistico, edilizio e rurale; - misure atte ad eliminare strutture ed interventi deturpanti esistenti; - programmi di ricerca scientifica; - acquisto di beni immobili a tutela del patrimonio significativo - naturalistico - edilizio - rurale sulla Valle Bavona - pubblicazioni di interesse della Valle Bavona. Promuove e raccoglie, con funzione di centro di documentazione, studi e ricerche sul territorio della valle con particolare attenzione alle testimonianze etnologiche (della civiltà alpina) in tutte le loro componenti di transumanza.
