L'Istituto si propone di: Offrire a giovani svizzeri la possibilità di approfondire le loro conoscenze o la loro arte, d'intraprendere ricerche o lavori originali, in un centro di cultura classica; Incoraggiare l'attività scientifica o artistica della Svizzera, offrendo a studiosi e artisti condizioni favorevoli di soggiorno in Italia; Contribuire allo sviluppo delle relazioni scientifiche e culturali tra la Svizzera e l'ltalia. La Fondazione può partecipare ad iniziative utili o necessarie per raggiungere il suo scopo.
