## Purpose

La Fondazione, ispirata alla figura umana di Federica Spitzer (1911-2002) e volta a dare continuità ai suoi ideali, ha come scopo di fare memoria dei genocidi, delle persecuzioni e dei totalitarismi e contrastare il razzismo, promuovendo il valore della libertà e la comprensione fra popoli, culture e religioni diverse. La Fondazione è depositaria del Fondo Spitzer che riunisce i materiali appartenuti a Federica Spitzer, che ne documentano la deportazione, la condizione di profugo e la testimonianza da lei svolta. La Fondazione gestisce il Fondo in collaborazione con istituzioni accademiche e culturali interessate. La Fondazione si rivolge all'opinione pubblica e in particolare modo ai giovani e alle scuole, attraverso: l'attribuzione di premi a persone, associazioni o istituti educativi che si sono distinti per iniziative che sono in sintonia con gli scopi della Fondazione; l'organizzazione di eventi culturali, mostre, manifestazioni, iniziative scientifiche, comunicazione multimediale; la divulgazione dei documenti del Fondo Spitzer e la loro messa a disposizione per la ricerca scientifica; l'acquisto di eventuali documenti inediti riguardanti Federica Spitzer.
