## Purpose

Provvedere alla gestione del Museo e Visitor Center del Sito del Patrimonio mondiale Monte San Giorgio e con lo stesso di presentare al pubblico primariamente il patrimonio geologico, paleontologico, geominerario, geoarcheologico e carsologico e secondariamente il patrimonio faunistico, botanico e micologico del Monte San Giorgio. Un ulteriore scopo, altrettanto importante, è di fare conoscere la Convenzione dell'UNESCO sul patrimonio mondiale, le varie responsabilità e doveri ad essa legati, così come i criteri che hanno motivato l'iscrizione del Monte San Giorgio sulla Lista del patrimonio mondiale dell'UNESCO. La Fondazione ha inoltre lo scopo di stabilire i necessari contatti con i Comuni e altri Enti o Associazioni locali nel promovimento e coordinamento degli obiettivi di valorizzazione territoriale e socio-economica a livello comune e transfrontaliero.
