## Purpose

Förderung der Mathematik in Europa in allen Aspekten (als Wissenschaft, in der Ausbildung und im öffentlichen Erscheinungsbild); zu diesem Zweck kann die Stiftung folgende Tätigkeiten ausüben: a) die Errichtung und Überwachung eines Verlagshauses, dessen operatives Handeln durch ein vom Stiftungsrat erlassenes Reglement geregelt wird; b) die Förderung der Tätigkeiten der Europäischen Mathematischen Gesellschaft/European Mathematical Society (EMS), insbesondere die Förderung, Verbreitung und Popularisierung mathematischer Kenntnisse, die Förderung des Ideenaustauschs zwischen Mathematikern in Europa sowie zwischen Mathematikern in Europa und anderen Mathematikern; c) Zusammenarbeit mit der Administration der EMS; d) Unterstützung der Aktivitäten der Mitgliedsgesellschaften der EMS.
