## Purpose

Die Stiftung verfolgt ausschliesslich und unmittelbar gemeinnützige Zwecke. Die Stiftung bezweckt die Förderung der Kunst, insbesondere a) die Heran- und Fortbildung des künstlerischen Nachwuchses auf dem Gebiet der Musik, u.a. auch durch Zuwendungen an Institutionen und Einzelpersonen, die auf dem Gebiet der Musik tätig sind, jedoch verbunden mit der ausdrücklichen Auflage, die Zuwendung ausschliesslich für die erwähnten Zwecke zu verwenden, b) den Gedankenaustausch zwischen schweizerischen, deutschen und anderen Musikkünstlern oder Musikwissenschaftlern, c) die Verleihung von Preisen an produzierende oder reproduzierende Musikkünstler oder Musikwissenschaftler, die auf ihrem Gebiet besondere Leistungen vollbringen, insoweit dadurch ihr künstlerisches Schaffen gefördert und wertvolle Kunstwerke der Allgemeinheit zugeführt werden. Die Musikpreise werden unter der Bezeichnung Ernst von Siemens Musikpreis verliehen. Die Zuwendungen nach Bst. a und c dürfen im Einzelfall einen angemessenen Rahmen nicht übersteigen und müssen im Durchschnitt der Jahre in einem ausgewogenen Verhältnis zueinander stehen. Die Stiftung verfolgt weder Erwerbs- noch Selbsthilfezwecke.
