## Purpose

Vereinigt Frauen und Männer, welche sich für eine gerechte und demokratische Sozial- und Wirtschaftsordnung einsetzen wollen. Im einzelnen will der Verband sich einsetzen für eine aktive und qualitative Beschäftigungspolitik sowie für gerechte Lohn-, Arbeits- und Lebensbedingungen kämpfen; Gesamtarbeitsverträge im Interesse der Arbeitnehmerinnen und Arbeitnehmer abschliessen sowie diese bei Kollektivstreitigkeiten vertreten und unterstützen; sich für eine arbeitnehmer- und familienfreundliche Sozial- und Wirtschaftsgesetzgebung einsetzen; die Mitbestimmungsrechte der Arbeitnehmerschaft auf allen Ebenen durchsetzen; die berufliche, gesellschafts- und wirtschaftspolitische Bildung fördern; Leistungen gewähren und einen Rechtsschutzdienst unterhalten; die Mitglieder mittels Gewerkschaftspresse und verbandliches Schrifttum sowie die Arbeitnehmerschaft mittels Presse und Massenmedien informieren; ist konfessional und parteipolitisch unabhängig.
