## Purpose

La produzione, il trasporto e il commercio di energia elettrica, disponendo a tale effetto del capitale di dotazione fornitole dallo Stato, delle forze idriche che lo Stato decide di utilizzare in proprio, secondo la legislazione cantonale e federale vigente, di mezzi e impianti propri e del Cantone, nonché delle quote di energia provenienti da partecipazioni del Cantone e dell’Azienda. L’Azienda, conformemente alle norme della legge cantonale sull’energia dell’8 febbraio 1994 (LEn) e al Piano energetico cantonale (PEC), concorre all’attuazione e al coordinamento delle scelte di politica energetica cantonale, alla produzione e alla commercializzazione di energia elettrica, di gas naturale e di energie da fonti rinnovabili; promuove l’uso razionale dell’energia e il contenimento dei consumi, la differenziazione nell’uso dei vettori energetici, nonché le ricerche e le sperimentazioni in materia di energie da fonti rinnovabili. L’Azienda non può acquisire quote di partecipazione in centrali nucleari e centrali elettriche a carbone – in Svizzera e all’estero – né direttamente né indirettamente.
