## Purpose

Die Genossenschaft bezweckt die Bereitstellung von preisgünstigem Wohnraum an ihre Mitglieder. Die Tätigkeit der Genossenschaft ist nicht gewinnstrebig. Die Genossenschaft erstellt, vermietet und verkauft preisgünstige Wohnungen und andere Räumlichkeiten in erster Linie an ihre Mitglieder. Sie kann zu diesem Zweck unbebaute und bebaute Liegenschaften und Baurechte erwerben, belasten und veräussern, unter Ausschluss jeder spekulativen Absicht. Die Mitglieder sind verpflichtet, die von ihnen gemieteten Wohnungen selber zu bewohnen und in Biel/Bienne Wohnsitz zu nehmen. Von dieser Pflicht zur Wohnsitznahme können Personen in Ausbildung ausgenommen werden. Im Hinblick auf das Bundesgesetz über den Erwerb von Grundstücken durch Personen im Ausland müssen die Wohnungen Mitgliedern ausländischer Nationalität als Hauptwohnung am Ort ihres rechtmässigen und tatsächlichen Wohnsitzes dienen. Die Genossenschaft ist parteipolitisch neutral.
