## Purpose

Zweck von Caritas Bern ist: a. die fachlich kompetente, wirkungsvolle und effiziente Unterstützung von Menschen in schwierigen Lebenssituationen unabhängig von Herkunft, Geschlecht und Religion; b. die Sensibilisierung der Öffentlichkeit für Notlagen; c. die Mitwirkung bei der Schaffung gerechter gesellschaftlicher Strukturen und einer solidarischen Entwicklung der Gesellschaft; d. die fachliche Unterstützung bei der Förderung des sozialen Engagements der römisch-katholischen Kirche im Kanton Bern. Der Verein Caritas Bern arbeitet eng mit den anderen regionalen Caritas-Organisationen und Caritas Schweiz zusammen. Er ist Mitglied beim Verein Caritas Schweiz.
