## Purpose

Die Erinnerung an das Leben von Johann Peter Hebel und sein hinterlassenes Werk durch Verwendung der Zinsen des Stiftungskapitals zu namentlich folgenden Zwecken: 1. Jeweils am 10. Mai soll den zwölf ältesten Männern und den zwölf ältesten Frauen des Dorfes Hausen, dazu dem Bürgermeister oder - bei dessen Verhinderung - dem ältesten Mitglied des Gemeinderates, ein einfaches Mahl mit einer Flasche guten Markgräfler Weines geboten werden; 2. In Hausen wohnhaften Bräuten, die im vergangenen Jahr geheiratet haben, ist eine bescheidene Hochzeitsgabe auszurichten; 3. Vier fleissige Schülerinnen und Schüler sollen ein gebundenes Buch mit Hebels Werken erhalten; 4. Vor dem 10. Mai wird in Basel zum Hebelabendschoppen eingeladen; 5. Die Stiftung sorgt mit geeigneten Massnahmen dafür, dass das Andenken an Hebel in Basel lebendig bleibt.
